Older video but I personally can’t recommend Eufy. Deadbolts are typically outside, right? I’ve had two die because rain killed them due to wind blowing rain into my front door. Poor design.

I’ll admit that I’m rather spoiled by Zigbee. Adding a device to Home Assistant by pulling the battery isolator and telling HA to go look for the device and it comes up fully functional is absolutely appreciated. And yes, Eufy sells Zigbee Buttons that will tell you if the battery is dead w/o setting up a connection to their cloud, but the ability to use it as a _button_ isn’t there. I can see needing to use an app to establish a lock setup in some cases, but that needs to be don w/o having a cloud account. I can’t think of much that’s more of a security problem than having the codes to unlock the front door stored somewhere I don’t have actual physical controll over.
